Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime launched in India at Rs 18,790

Samsung has today officially announced the Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone in India. Price at Rs 18,790 the handset is an updated version of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). Along with that Samsung has also launched the J5 Prime at Rs 14,790.

Specifications of the Galaxy J7 Prime include a 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and dual-SIM card support. Other features include a 13MP rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, an 8MP front camera with an f/1.9 aperture, 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via a microSD slot and accepts cards of up to 256GB in capacity.

There’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button and a 3,300mAH battery. The J5 Prime is a smaller version of the J7 prime and features a more nimble quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 5-inch 720p display with a similar curved Gorilla Glass and a smaller 2,400mAH battery.

Samsung has focused on battery and security with the two new phones. Both the smartphones offer Samsung’s S-Power Planning which comes with three features including reserve battery for calls, extended battery time and forward calls when no battery. In terms of the security aspect, the S-Secure again offers three features, lock/hide apps, secure folder and secure Wi-Fi. The phones also feature the previously announced S-Bike mode.

According to Samsung, the smartphone will come with a special offer courtesy Vodafone where users get 10GB of 4G data at the price of 1GB for three months.
