Samsung has kicked off India pre-orders of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones within hours of announcing the smartphone at MWC 2018 in Barcelona. The dedicated Samsung India Shop has started taking pre-orders online for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones. Interested consumers can head to this page and pre-order their unit by paying an advance amount of Rs. 2,000.
For pre-ordering the new Samsung Galaxy S9, you will have to choose a colour, enter details like name, mobile number, and email. On paying Rs. 2,000, consumers will receive a pre-book coupon that confirms that the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ has been pre-ordered by the customer. During the final purchase, the advance payment of Rs. 2,000 will be adjusted with the final amount of the handset.
Unfortunately, there’s no India price for the Galaxy S9 as of now but we can expect the company to announce a price for the handset at the time of release.
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in a lot of markets will begin March 2. The phone is expected to start shipping from March 16. In the US, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be available in the US at $719.99 (roughly Rs. 47,000) for the unlocked version. The Samsung Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, will be available at $839.99 (roughly Rs. 54,500) for the unlocked version.
Refreshing specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple colours. The Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy S9+ features a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. The phones are powered by octa-core processor. The Galaxy S9 packs 3000mAh battery and comes with 4GB of RAM while the Galaxy S9+ packs 6GB of RAM and packs 3500mAh battery.
Both the phones will come with 64GB on-board storage. However, the company will bring the Midnight Black version in 256GB storage.
For security, the phone supports iris-scanner, fingerprint scanner, and face detection. For connectivity, the handset support Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 5.0, ANT+, and USB Type-C.
